Next Gen Resume iOS App
Job Context: Internship (Subcreation.design)
Project Output: High Fidelity Interactive Prototype, High Fidelity App Screens, Interactive Presentation Video
Collaborated With: Lead Product Designer
My Responsibility: Took medium fidelity designs from previous design team and updated graphics and re-assed user flow. Then implemented prototype interactive elements such as sliders and buttons to present the iOS app onboarding process.
Story: Yuduyu is a Washington, DC startup who's service helps young graduates land their dream job. They had a half baked design screen deck for their app's user signup workflow. They needed these screens to be improved and iterated into a workable prototype to present to multiple rounds of investor panels to gain funding for the client company.
Yuduyu had worked with a previous design studio to create design decks for their mobile application onboarding + dashboard experience. While the UI was finished the experience was vague and the decks were static. The client wanted a more cohesive final presentable prototype to show off to investors at an upcoming meeting.
The users are younger demographic recent graduates looking for work. These users might use LinkedIn, but are looking for a newer age application experience.
The audience are the investor boards that will watch the prototype to get a sense of the future product they'd be funding.
I was constrained by time because the client had an upcoming presentation in which our work needed to be presentable.
I was also working with an already built UI deck which meant adhering to the design system in place and using the prebuilt slides to create a built out moving app.
I got the opportunity to sit down and research what the client's needs were over Zoom and formulate a plan to bring the company's vision to life. Yuduyu already had UI frames to guide the experience, but made it clear that they needed a prototype that allowed them to show functionality off. I then made features animated and interactive to create more depth to the decks. I also added interactive user flow throughout the project.
I attempted to shoot footage of the prototype being interactive in realtime however the quality of footage wasn't good enough for investor presentation so we decided to redo an edited video for a perfect cut.
I was able to find mistakes in the user flow from the previous studio that included the need for extra slides and buttons to make the prototype complete. The end result was taking an HD video of the prototype working digitally with a phantom interactive user. The video of which is viewable on this page.Yuduyu was extremely pleased with the quality of our work and how we brought so much motion and completeness to the project. They felt comfortable and assured going forward to present the work themselves with both the working files and a presentable video to share.
