Launch Viewing iOS App
Job Context: Personal Project
Project Output: Wireframe Sketches, High Fidelity Interactive Prototype, High Fidelity App Screens, Interactive Presentation Video
My Responsibility: Come up with the project and create wireframes on paper that could be iterated into Framer screens with interactive components that could show app interactivity and usability for a mock launch.
Story: Falcon rocket launches were becoming increasingly common and successful leading to an increased public interest in viewing those launches as the Falcon Heavy was nearing it's first launch. I wanted to create a culturally topical app that delivered a reliable feed of launch stage data and video to iPhone users.
The challenge was to create an engaging and culturally relevant SpaceX Rocket Launch iOS app. With the increasing success and public interest in Falcon rocket launches, particularly with the impending launch of Falcon Heavy, there was a need for a reliable app that could deliver real-time launch stage data and video feeds to iPhone users.
The primary users of the SpaceX Rocket Launch iOS app are iPhone owning individuals interested in staying updated on Falcon rocket launches in real time.
The main constraint was to emulate a sudo launch to display the user experience of the application. With no budget the project was limited in scope to using available assets and those that I could make on my own.
The approach to the SpaceX Rocket Launch iOS app project began with conceptualizing the idea and translating it into wireframe sketches on paper. The wireframes served as the foundation for creating high-fidelity interactive prototype screens using Framer, showcasing the app's interactivity and usability. The responsibility included designing a user-friendly interface that allowed users to access reliable launch stage data and video feeds for Falcon rocket launches. An additional element of the project involved creating an interactive presentation video to effectively convey the app's features and functionality.
The result in the creation of the SpaceX Rocket Launch iOS app, offering users a reliable and engaging platform for staying updated on Falcon rocket launches. The wireframe sketches provided the initial framework, and the high-fidelity interactive prototype screens demonstrated the app's functionality. The high-fidelity app screens reflected a visually appealing design, and the interactive presentation video effectively communicated the app's features and benefits. The result is a culturally topical and user-friendly iOS app, providing space enthusiasts with a convenient and accessible way to follow and enjoy SpaceX's Falcon rocket launches.
