Job Context: Full-Time Work (Levi & Korsinsky, LLP)
Project Output: Figma Screen Designs, Wordpress Coded Website
Collaborated With: Law Firm Owner, Project Manager, Programming Dev Team
My Responsibility: Redesign outdated website in Figma and then present for development to the programming team.
Story: The law firm needed a client facing website redesign to increase litigation inquiries from shareholders . The main goal was to present a modern law firm website within an industry that for the majority remains behind in modern design practices.
The existing Levi & Korsinsky website was facing a critical issue: an outdated design that reflected the sub-standard web design prevalent in the legal industry. The challenge was to transform the website into a modern, client-centric platform capable of attracting and engaging shareholders for increased litigation inquiries. The legal industry often lags in adopting modern design practices, and the objective was to bridge this gap by delivering a visually appealing and user-friendly website.
Old Website
Several constraints influenced the redesign project. Time constraints dictated the need for a swift turnaround as the previous website was entirely unusable in it's current state. The design had to balance modern aesthetics with the authoritative and trustworthy image expected in the legal sector. Integration with WordPress imposed certain technical constraints, requiring the design to be feasible for implementation within the chosen content management system.
The primary users of the redesigned Levi & Korsinsky website are prospective clients and shareholders seeking legal representation and information. These users expect a seamless online experience that reflects the professionalism and competence of the law firm. Additionally, the internal team, including the law firm owner, attorneys, project manager, and the programming development team, are key stakeholders involved in the project's success.
Initially, extensive research was conducted to understand the specific needs of the legal industry and the expectations of potential clients. MidJourney image generation was used at this stage as well to get some general consensus around modern and unique webdesign to brainstorm upon. Collaborative sessions with the law firm owner, project manager, and development team were held to gather insights and align the design with the firm's goals. Figma was employed to create detailed screen designs, ensuring a clear visual representation of the proposed changes. The iterative design process involved regular feedback loops to refine and optimize the user experience. The site copywriting was created in part using OpenAI's chatGPT alongside input from the project manager to speed up production time. The final designs were then handed over to the programming team for WordPress implementation.

The new website successfully shed its outdated image, adopting a modern and professional aesthetic. User engagement and inquiries from shareholders increased noticeably, achieving the primary goal of the project. The collaboration with the law firm owner, project manager, and the programming development team facilitated a seamless transition from design to implementation. The WordPress-coded website now stands as a testament to the firm's commitment to staying ahead in an industry that traditionally lags in embracing contemporary design practices.
